Republic Caps and Rays 8 Reales 1865 Do-LT XF45 PCGS, Durango mint, KM377.4 ("Rare"), DP-Do46 ("Extremely Rare"). Quite choice for the designation, with limited handling marks, a good strike on a very pleasing flan and remnants of luster in the recessed areas. One of the classic rarities in the series, the present example being among the finest specimens offered at public auction in recent years. Rare and eminently desirable in this superior preservation. We note a similar specimen hammered for E3,600 in 2012 in a Spanish auction.
