Republic Caps and Rays 8 Reales 1861 Ho-FM XF45 PCGS, Hermosillo mint, KM377.9, DP-Ho01 ("Extremely Rare"). The variety with normal punches in date. Choice Extremely Fine with subdued luster and somewhat weakly struck in the legends as is usually the case (DP: "often areas of weakness in the lettering or devices near the rim"). Very rare and one of the most iconic issues of the entire Cap and Rays series, deservedly lauded in Dunigan-Parker as "an extremely rare coin... highly sought after for it's beauty and importance" and "one of the stars of the series".
