Republic Caps and Rays 8 Reales 1867 Pi-LR AU58 PCGS, San Luis Potosi mint, KM377.12, DP-Pi53. Borderline Mint State with slight friction evidence on the higher points. A well struck and attractive coin, with considerable subdued mint lustre and very clean surfaces. A highly elusive date, very rare in this fine preservation and undoubtedly among the finest known (DP notes "perhaps a half dozen of Extremely Fine to Uncirculated examples exist", this example being referred to as one of the latter).
