Luis I gold Cob 8 Escudos 1725 L-M XF45 PCGS, Lima mint, KM40, Onza-543. A wholesome and well preserved specimen, quite attractive for the designation with only limited friction evidence, a strong strike that hardly shows evidence of doubling and appealing surfaces. A better representative of this very scarce and hugely popular one-year type issue, with the numeral "I" of the King quite clear on the shield side near 5 o'clock. The issues of Luis I are amongst the scarcest and more romantic of the entire cob series. Strong attention from collectors is expected for this engaging representative of this large and impressive gold type.
