Zamosc. Siege Issue copper 6 Groszy 1813 AU50 NGC, KM1, Maillet-129.5, VG-1945. Partial double-leaf edge. A rare and highly historic issue that was struck by the order of General Johann Moritz Hauke of Napoleon's army after its retreat from the Russian invasion in 1813. Relatively sharp for this hastily-made type with surfaces that show no flan crack or evident highpoint friction. Certain to be of the highest interest for the connoisseur that prefers to collect items that reflect on a specific moment in history. Krause catalog price(s) for this item: $3000 in VF, $5250 in EF.
Estimate: 3000-4000 USD
