Alexander II Uniface Obverse & Reverse lead Trial Strikes of the 1863 EM Pattern 2 Kopecks both Uncirculated, Brussels mint, type of Bitkin 599/560, type of Brekke-142. Both well struck and lustrous with no significant flaws. Ex: Baldwin's October 15, 2003 sale of the Francois van Hoof Russian Collection, Lot 1098. According to the Baldwin's catalog, seven pairs of these trials were struck, with three pairs going to museums, one pair to the RNS, and two pairs untraced. This is the seventh pair. The baldwin's catalog also states that van Hoof obtained this pair from the mint in Brussels. These were submitted to NGC, and returned ungraded as ,"Ineligible type." They are sold as is, no return.
