Nicholas II gold 7-1/2 Roubles 1897 AГ MS65 PCGS, St. Petersburg mint., Bitkin-17, Fr-178. Obv. Bust left. Rev. Crowned double-headed Imperial eagle with date and value. An amazing example of this one-year type issue. The strike is superb, the luster bold, and the satiny surfaces exhibit only minuscule imperfections. A total of only three pieces of this popular type have been certified in MS 65 by by PCGS and NGC ((2) by PCGS and (1) by NGC). We sold the other PCGS MS65 in an earlier 2013 sale, where it realized $11,500. An extremely impressive type coin for the gold collector.
