Joao V gold 10000 Reis 1724-M MS62 NGC, Vila Rica mint, KM116 ("rare"), Russo-244. Brilliant Uncirculated with few handling marks and a rather impressive strike. The surfaces are very lustrous and are beginning to tone quite attractively, resulting in a most engaging example. By far the more elusive date of this very scarce type and a classic rarity of the entire Colonial series, long hailed as a special coin in all the classical references of Brazilian numismatics. Very rare and important in this lofty preservation.
