Victoria Specimen 10 Cents 1872-H SP67 PCGS, Heaton mint, KM3. Sheathed in a rich blanket of tone on both sides with iridescent blue coloration around a portion of the obverse legends and dusky rose and orange-peach in the centers. Similarly toned on the reverse, only deeper in hue and with more blue-green mixed in. A tiny freckle, apparently a strike-through of some sort, is the only perceptible imperfection, with surfaces that otherwise appear pristine. Like all the Specimen strikings of 1872, thought to exist today in numbers around 5-7 pieces, with an original mintage that was in all likelihood around 10. To date, PCGS has recorded seven submissions with NGC having seen none. Not surprisingly, the present Superb Gem is the finest graded, thus creating a singular opportunity for the collector that demands the finest.Ex. Norweb Collection (B&M 11/96, Lot-180)
