Republic Volcano 2 Reales 1834 Santiago-IJ MS65 NGC, Santiago mint, KM92. Mintage: 3,740. Lightly touched by golden tone with effulgent luster peering out from underneath. The strike, unlike many other examples of this single-year type, is impressively executed, with a wonderfully detailed erupting volcano on one side and nearly full segmentation of the star above the pillar on the other. As the Gem grade suggests, few post-strike hindrances are noted.
