Republic gold & silver Piedfort Proof Sets 1978, The silver Piedfort set is comprised of: KM-P594, P597, P600, P603, P606, P609, P614, P617, P619.The gold Piedfort set is comprised of: KM-P595, P598, P601, P604, P607, P610, P615, P618, P620.Each set includes the following denominations: 1 Centime, 5 Centimes, 10 Centimes, 20 Centimes, ½ Franc, 1 Franc, 5 Francs, 10 Francs, and 50 Francs.Within the silver set all of the coins exhibit fantastic patina. While the smaller denominations present vibrant, opaque tone, the larger coins display silvery-gray surfaces that are accented by earthy highlights. About as FDC as they come, with minimal evidence of handling and only a few minor, noticeable wisps. The gold set features the same denominations as its silver counterpart, with each coin refreshingly choice, presenting deeply-mirrored fields and surfaces a desirable shade of saffron. While faint handling exists, as a whole, this set is absolutely outstanding and contains an impressive total gold weight of 7.8840 oz.Offered as a pair, these stunning Piedfort sets offer a total of eighteen coins, all with double-weight thickness and unstoppable eye-appeal.
