Elizabeth I (1558-1603) gold Sovereign 1584-86 XF Details (Mount Removed) NGC, London mint, Sixth Issue of 1583-1600, Escallop mm, S-2529, North-2003 (R). While the is edge not visible in the slab, the flan is large and well formed with normal slight waviness. Full sharp legends extend out to the outer rims broken by a portcullis in the style without chains. Traces of the mount are visible around Elizabeth's crown along with some light smoothing. The strike is typically uneven with a bit of weakness to the obverse center but the coin is quite appealing overall.
