James II Crown 1687 MS64 PCGS, Royal mint, KM463. S-3407. Second Bust - "Tertio" edge. A most-original Crown of the year, the surfaces are richly toned in green and antique gold hues with underlying sparkle and wear-free highpoint detail that confirms its high state of preservation. Only a touch of striking softness is noted, but the surfaces are almost entirely free of the planchet "haymarks" that so often accompany this issue and others of the period. Aside from a small tick on James' cheek, surface marks, while limited, remain nicely blended. A fine example indeed, and not surprisingly, unsurpassed at PCGS in numerical grade. Outstanding!
