Great Britain
George III Bank of England silver Pattern Proof 5 Shilling and 6 Pence 1811 PR64 NGC, KM-PnH68, ESC-203, "wreath" reverse. Attractive old cabinet gray toning with significant blue iridescence. Though a very rare type, we have been able to track down auction records for two comparable examples. Two years ago, in January 2013, Heritage sold an example graded "UNC Details (Surface Hairlines)" by NGC. Despite being a somewhat problem coin, that piece still fetched $6,000. On the other end o the spectrum, the Swiss company Hess-Divo sold another example in October, 2014 for a hammer price of 25,000 CHF (over $26,000 at the time). That was a very attractive coin, and suggests that there is a significant jump in value from a "details" coin to a problem-free example. Based on that recent result, we feel that we are, if anything, conservative in our estimation.

Estimate: 15000-20000 USD
