William IV gold Sovereign 1831 MS64 PCGS, Royal mint, KM717, S-3829. First bust. Tied with 4 others at PCGS at the MS64 level, with one graded higher at MS64+. A very attractive piece that is rarely encountered in such high grades. The last example we handled was an NGC MS61 piece in our September, 2014 auction (lot 30870), which sold for nearly $6,500 all in. This piece is miles ahead of that one, with only the lightest of handling marks and good reflectivity in the fields.
