Victoria Proof Crown 1839 PR62 PCGS, Royal mint, KM741, S-3882, plain edge. A very rare and popular type, with beautiful blue iridescence in the fields. The market for this type has gone up a tremendous amount in recent years. For example, we sold a PR62 in August, 2010 (Heritage 3010, lot 21195) for $10,925. Two years later, in April, 2012 (Heritage 3019, lot 24730), we sold another PR62 for $23,000. That coin has since had several private offers made on it via Heritage's Make Offer to Owner program in amounts of $30,000, $32,000, and $35,000, all of which were declined by the owner of the coin. With that in mind, it would seem pretty difficult to estimate a coin such as this. We leave it up to the market to decide its true value. From The Law Collection
