Victoria Penny 1860 MS64 Red and Brown NGC, Royal mint, KM749.2, S-3954, Freeman-9 (R17). Obverse 2 - Reverse B. A very rare and extremely collectible die combination for the date that pairs the toothed border obverse with the beaded border reverse. Beautifully preserved, a dazzling gleam of infrequent parallel enlightens the obverse with appealing yellow and reddish highlights in the fields. On the reverse, the color has only mellowed slightly at the rims and is the reason for what would otherwise be a full "Red" designation. For accuracy's sake, close inspection does reveal some as-made planchet chatter that is well-hidden in the design, but the surfaces otherwise are about as close to Gem as one could hope for; certainly, if not the finest extant of this variety, very close to it!

Estimate: 7500-10000 USD
