Vittorio Emanuele II gold 100 Lire 1864 T-BN AU53 PCGS, Rome mint, KM19.1, Fr-8. An attractive specimen with relatively smooth surfaces that are sheathed in antiqued, golden patina and accented by darker tone that clings to the devices, creating a most pleasing, two-tone effect on portrait of Vittorio Emanuele II. The design elements are noticeably well-struck and other than a few minor marks across the King's neck and the reverse shield, the overall appearance of this offering is choice. A scarce one-year type with a virtually non-existent mintage of 579 pieces, and a selection that is coveted at any level, especially in this state of preservation or finer. Ex. Collections Sax
