Umberto I gold 50 Lire 1884-R MS64+ PCGS, Rome mint, KM25, Fr-19. Mintage: 2,534. A staggeringly beautiful 50 lire, the fields showcasing glassy prooflike reflectivity throughout with light satin texture on the raised devices that produces a mild cameo effect. Unlike most survivors of this rare type, the surfaces remain free of nearly all contact marks; a clear sign of long-time collector safekeeping that prevented coin on coin contact. In fact, a search of archived auction records reveals precious few rivals in terms of quality with the present piece's top of the population report status at PCGS (with no rivals at NGC) further validating its condition rarity. A truly great coin that is clearly destined to join an elite cabinet. From The Alexander Collection

Estimate: 10000-12000 USD
