Umberto I gold 100 Lire 1883-R MS62 NGC, Rome mint, KM22, Fr-18. A dazzling example featuring the distinguished portrait of Umberto I atop highly-reflective surfaces that glisten magnificently upon rotation and offer a pleasing cameo contrast on the reverse devices. While unremarkable, light handling, as well as a few minor marks and bumps define the grade. Even so, this is a wonderful representative of this type which is seldom encountered in the marketplace, especially in mint-state. With a mintage of just 4,219 pieces, this specimen is every bit worthy of a strong bid. From The Empire Collection
