Peter I lead Trial 2 Roubles 1722 AU50 PCGS, Bitkin-H1748 variety, Severin-533 variety, 42.27g. Ex: Robert Hesselgesser Collection, Ira & Larry Goldberg Coins & Collectibles Auction 31, May 30, 2005, Lot 1747. Too large to fit in a PCGS slab at the time of the Hesselgesser sale, but PCGS issued a slab insert for this lot with the assigned grade. The insert is included with this lot. Struck in lead instead of the normal silver strike and as far as we can determine, the only example known in lead. The edge with light file marks. The surfaces with scattered abrasions and light rim bumps. This piece was not put in a holder by NGC as being an "Ineligible Type." We are selling this, as is, and will not accept NGC not slabbing the coin as a reason for return. PCGS graded the coins, and we are confident the coin is a genuine example. (Sold as is, no return.)
