Alexander III Coronation Proof Rouble 1883 ЛIII PR63 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Bitkin-217, KM-Y43. Obv. Bust right with date below. Rev. Crown, orb, and scepter on pillow, in wreath, with value above. The fields are mirrored, and the devices frosted, so there is Cameo appearance even though not mentioned on the holder. The strike is superb and the surfaces display toning in shades of green, with light hairlines and a noticeably heavier scratch in the left obverse field. The overall appearance is exceptional, even with the flaws, and Proofs of this issue are quite scarce, with only a single piece certified finer by NGC and PCGS combined..
