George V silver & bronze Eight Coin Certified Proof Set 1931, Farthing (1/4 Penny) - PR65 Brown PCGS1/2 Penny - PR65 Brown PCGSPenny - PR64 Brown PCGS3 Pence - PR65 PCGS6 Pence - PR65 PCGSShilling - PR65 PCGS2 Shillings (Florin) - PR65 PCGS2-1/2 Shillings - PR65 PCGSKM-PS6, comprised of KM12.3-17.3, KM19.3, 22. Mintage: 62 sets. The Farthing is superb with essentially flawless surfaces and wonderful mahogany-brown color. The 1/2 penny is as fine as the Farthing other than a strike-through on the king's cheek, still, a great rarity as no commercial pieces are known with the denomination expressed as "1/2D." The Penny is very choice with a few, faint contact ticks in the field to the left of the King's beard. The 3 Pence is flawless other than tiny carbon flecks and some breaks in the colorful iridescent toning, probably from an old fingerprint. Regardless, a beautiful "Tickey" nonetheless, extremely rare, and the key to the set and the 3 Pence series. The 6 Pence, Shilling, Florin, and 1/2 Crown are all gems, and display beautiful rainbow-tone in delicate, pastel hues. A phenomenal set, with portrait by Bertram Mackennal and reverses designed and engraved by Kruger Gray. A completely matched and fully original set, with the bronzes all nearly identical in color, and the silver coins sharing the same rich, iridescent hues. If anything, the numerical grades assigned to these pieces are somewhat conservative. The finest set of this date we have encountered and possibly in existence, extremely rare, especially in Gem Proof.

Estimate: 40000-50000 USD
