ROMAN EMPIRE. Ca. AD 150-250. Silver large fibula brooch (93mm X 48mm, 34.12 gm). Of "Pseudo La Tene" design commonly used in Pannonia and Dacia in the second and third centuries AD, this large (3.75" long) and impressive cloak pin has a broad bilateral transverse coil spring, long arched bow of triangular shape with added narrow spine decorated with grooved knobs and terminating in a reverted catch plate. Unusually large, pin, spring and bow completely intact and functional, the silver in exceptional shape.
