Charles II silver "Peace With Holland" Medal 1667 AU Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, MI-535/186 (incorrectly marked on insert), Eimer-241. 56mm. By J. Roettier. A wonderfully illustrative example with light surface hairlines beneath smooth, steel-gray patina and two reverse cuds typical to the issue. An incredibly detailed historical medal that celebrates the Peace of Breda in 1667, which is notated on the raised, lettered edge. The obverse portrait of Charles II is based on Roettier's naval reward medals and the reverse features Britannia seated, reviewing her fleet while the waves lap at her feet. A superb medal full of symbolism and stunning imagery.
