SIKH EMPIRE: AR nanakshahi rupee (11.15g), Amritsar / Mehta? VS(18)43 year 318, KM-A20.3, Herrli-01.05.04, mismatched date (should be year 316 for VS1843), both dates boldly clear, unpublished, bold VF, RRR. The reverse of this piece is sufficiently off center to reveal the extra word above the mint name Amritsar, and it has been suggested that it reads mehta for the city by that name located about 20 miles away from Amritsar, a location of considerable importance for the Sikh Empire at the time this coin was struck.
