U.S.S.R.: 9-coin set, 1969, KM-MS10, prooflike specimens, including 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 15, 20 and 50 kopecks, and 1 rouble, each in a stiff postal card with a different 1968 dated 6 kopeck commemorative stamp, each cancelled on "25269", i.e., 25 February 1969. The original set, in cellophane wrapping, is listed by KM at $375. This set was repackaged in stamped covers produced in the United States for the collector market. This numismatic/philatelic set seems to be much rarer than the official cellophane set, and the only one we have seen offered in recent years fetched $340 in our Auction 19 last year. The packaging bears the US patent number 3371851, which was requested in 1968 by 99 Coin Company, San Clemente, California, owned by John Baker, inventor of the PNC, "Philatelic Numismatic Cover", which he founded in 1964.
Estimate: 160- 200 USD
