The piece comes with an old envelope from Adolph Hess as well as a custom made holder, a golden ring with white card interior and blue card backing noting attribution inside and sale details from 1906 on the back. Hess founded his firm in Giessen, Germany in 1870 moving to Frankfurt/Main a couple of years later. He was one of the most important and well informed numismatists of the late 19th and early 20th century handling many important collections. The numismatic service he began continues today in the Hess-Divo firm of Zurich.
