KINGS of MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great'. 336-323 BC. AR Drachm (15.5mm, 4.31 g, 12h). Sardes mint. Struck under Menander, circa 330/25-324/3 BC. Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; kantharos in left field. Price 2542 (same dies as illustration); ADM I Series VII, 42a (same dies). Superb EF, dark iridescent tone. Rare.
