MACEDON (Roman Protectorate), Republican period. First Meris. Circa 167-149 BC. AR Tetradrachm (33mm, 16.86 g, 8h). Amphipolis mint. Diademed and draped bust of Artemis right, bow and quiver over shoulder, in the center of a Macedonian shield / Club; HP monogram and MAKEΔONΩN above, ΠPΩTHΣ and N below; all within oak wreath, thunderbolt to left. Prokopov, Silver 79 (O21/R63); SNG Copenhagen –; Künker 83, lot 231 (same dies). VF, attractive old iridescent toning.
