Caracalla. AD 198-217. AR Denarius (16mm, 2.66 g, 6h). Contemporary Imitation. Struck circa AD 207 or later. ANTONINVS PIVS AVG, laureate head right / PONTIF TR P X COS II, Mars, nude but for cloak flying from his waist, advancing right, holding spear and trophy. For prototype, cf. RIC IV 88; cf. RSC 431. Near EF, lightly toned, small spot of verdigris on the obverse. Nice metal.
