THRACE, Chersonesos. Circa 386-338 BC. AR Hemidrachm (12mm, 2.39 g). Forepart of lion right, head left; to left, grasshopper right / Quadripartite incuse square with alternating raised and sunken quarters, pellets in opposite sunken quarters. McClean 4055 var. (no grasshopper); SNG Copenhagen 824–5 var. (same). VF, toned, minor porosity. Very rare with grasshopper on obverse, unpublished in the standard references, none in CoinArchives.
