Pescennius Niger. AD 193-194. AR Denarius (17mm, 2.67 g, 6h). Antioch mint. IMP CAES C P-ESCE [N]IGER, laureate head right / VICTOR[I]A-E ORBIS, Victory advancing left, holding wreath and palm frond. RIC IV –; BMCRE –; RSC –. Good VF, lightly toned, minor porosity and deposits. An apparently unpublished type, at least in the standard references, with the reverse legend of VICTORIAE ORBIS. Nothing similar found in CoinArchives..
