Large wooden deadeye from HMS Stirling Castle (1703). 2180 grams, 8-1/2" diameter, 4-1/4" high. Of the various parts of the rigging of a wooden sailing ship, perhaps the most recognizable is the deadeye, with three worn holes in middle perpendicular to the groove around the perimeter, the present specimen fully intact and heavy, great for a nautical display. With photo-certificate. Recovered from: HMS Stirling Castle, sunk in 1703 off Deal, England (Estimate: $200 - 300)
