A note from BCD: With its attractive enlargements and the scholarship of Willy Schwabacher this book could not be anything but a paradigm for imitation. Indeed, since this book came out in 1962, many collection curators have styled their work in a similar fashion. The coins have now passed to the Stockholm Cabinet but the aura of the tasteful royal achievement and its exemplary way of laying it out in print, will remain forever because of this publication.
