Malaya Board of Commissioners of Currency $1000 1.1.1942 Pick 16. A Pick number that is not valued in any grade, but simply described as "rare." The cause for this is probably the fact that it is a large denomination and also the fall of Singapore to the Japanese on February 16, 1942. This is the first example to volunteer for our auctions and it grades PMG Choice Very Fine 35 with a small ink erasure. We know of only one other Pick 16 crossing the auction block in recent years. That piece graded PMG VF 35 with slight foxing and it realized $24,961 last September. Therefore, we feel confident with an estimate of... HID08701242017
