Attic White Ground Lekythos of a Hoplite; ca. 460-440 BC. A larger white ground lekythos depicting the outlined form of a hoplite, a heavily armed citizen-soldeier of ancient Greece. The soldier is armed with a spear and large shield. The piece has been repaired at the neck. Ex Richard Brockway, Massachusetts, acquired in the mid 1960's.
