Apulian Red-Figure Volute Krater By the Tenri Painter; ca. 320 BC. Obv: Warrior seated on a pile of rocks in a naiskos holding a cista. A profile woman's head is rendered above naiskos among folliage with rosette and wave patterns above and on rim. Rx: Woman dancing before altar holding a mirror in her right and a tympanum in her left. The base of the handles are flanked by swan heads and the volutes are decorated with yellow and white on the obverse and black on the reverse. Ex Sotheby's, London 13 July 1981, lot 354, Ex Geddes Collection. Published in Trendall Supp. I p. 200, ch.30, no 5. Exhibited: On loan to the Museum of Mediterranean Antiquities, Monash University, Melbourne, Australia, November 2005-April 2008. On loan to the University of Melbourne, March 1988-July 2003.
