Rx: Two rough incuse squares. This is the trial issue of Croesus discovered by Harlan J. Berk in the late 1980s, distinguished from the normal issues by the raised legs of the lion and the bull and by the wart on the lion's forehead, copying earlier Lydian trites.Well centered. Being Berk-1, this is the first gold coin ever struck. Fewer than 20 examples are recorded . VF
