CELTIC, Northeast Gaul. Suessiones. Late 2nd to mid 1st century BC. Stater (Electrum, 17 mm, 5.90 g), 'statère dérivé du type à l'oeil'. Devolved and disjointed head to right, with wing to right atop, central wheel below and rosette to left. Rev. Celticized horse galloping left; below, pellet-in-annulet above ornamented ground line. DT 548A. LT -. SLM -. Extremely rare. A very unusual and interesting type. Struck from somewhat worn dies, otherwise, very fine.
