Hadrian, 117-138. Sestertius (Orichalcum, 32 mm, 30.43 g, 7 h), Rome, 128-132. HADRIANVS AVGVSTVS Laureate head of Hadrian to right, with slight drapery on his left shoulder. Rev. COS III / S C Roma seated left on cuirass, placing her right foot on helmet, holding Victory in her right hand and cornucopiae in her left; behind, shield set on the ground. BMC 1297. Cohen 343. RIC 636. A bold and heavy piece with a particularly impressive portrait. Good very fine.
