ORDER OF MALTA: Emmanuel de Rohan, 1775-1797, AE 4 tari, ND (1778), KM-315, type I, II, III, and VII countermarks on (16)41 Malta 4 tari (KM-68), VF countermarks on Fine-VF host, Very Fine. In response to a huge counterfeiting problem of coppers in the 17th and 18th centuries, the administration had 2 and 4 tari coins continually revaluated with countermarks.
