Watch List notes:

ALGIERS: Abdul Hamid I, 1774-1789, AV ½ sultani (1.69g), Jazayir, AH1188, KM-38, lovely strike, choice Extremely Fine, RRR. This year AH1188 is still unlisted in SCWC, but is included in Ottoman Empire Coins by Uslu, Beyazit & Kara (December 2010). Only 2 dated are known for the half sultani of this reign, 1188 & 1197, both extremely rare. What appear as "scratches" on the reverse are actually traces of the planchet having shifted about 120° before the second striking. There is no evidence of double-striking on the reverse.
