Alfred Joseph Stothard (1793-1864), was the son of the distinguished painter, Thomas Stothard. He was a sculptor and medallist, and was appointed medallist to King George IV, for whom he executed a fine Portrait-medal. His works are remarkable for their bold relief, and the taste, fidelity, and beauty of their execution.
