TRIPOLI: Mahmud II, 1808-1839, BI 30 para (7.56g), Tarabulus Gharb, AH1223 year 20, KM-176, USK-118.01, the year is 20, not 2, bold strike, Very Fine to Extremely Fine, R, ex. Ken Bovenkamp collection. The dot for the zero of the regnal year was rather weakly engraved, and seems to have almost completely disappeared on most specimens, reminiscent of the 1922-D American cent that lacks the letter D. This would have been the result of wear on the dies used for this type. Both KM and USK incorrectly list the regnal year as "2".
