KAKWAYHID: 'Ala al-Dawla Muhammad, 1008-1041, AR dirham (6.82g), NM, ND, A-1591, citing the Buwayhid overlord Majd al-Dawla beneath the obverse, and another Buwayhid as amir al-umarâ sanâ al-dawla wa samâ al-milla abu'l-hasan bin shams al-dawla bin fakhr al-dawla, some weakness, VF, RR. The only other example of this type, same dies, was sold in our Auction 36, Lot 2370. The Buwayhid ruler in the Jibal, Samâ al-Dawla, is cited only on Kakwayhid coins.
