ARTUQIDS & ZANGID:LOT of 31 copper coins, average Fine condition, but many with various adhesion, corrosion, or other defects, including 19 image pieces (nearly all portraits), 10 inscription-only types, and 2 portrait issues of the Salduqid (both in poor condition), including some better types: Artuqid of Hisn Kayfa: SS-3 (winged Victory, walking, holding votive tablet, F-VF, porous surfaces), SS-11 (Seleukid style head left, mint of al-Hisn, clearly dated AH578, F-VF, light porosity, holed); SS-38.1 (Centaur left, shooting arrow at dragon emerging from its tail, Fine, much porosity); and SS-72, Lu'lu'lid, citing the Great Mongol overlord Möngke (F-VF, overstruck on undetermined host), viewing recommended; retail value $850, lot of 31 pieces.
