ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 168/7-148 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 33 mm, 16.89 g, 12 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥΣ / ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ / ΘΑΣΙΩΝ Herakles standing left, nude but for lion's skin over his shoulder and left arm; resting right hand on club; to left, monogram. HGC 6, 358. Le Rider, Thasiennes 51. Toned. Light deposits and a few scattered marks, otherwise, very fine.
