ISLANDS OFF THRACE, Thasos. Circa 148-90/80 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 30 mm, 16.67 g, 10 h). Head of youthful Dionysos to right, wearing ivy wreath. Rev. ΗΡΑΚΛΕΟΥ[Σ] / ΣΩΤΗΡΟΣ / ΘΑΣΙΩΝ Herakles standing left, nude but for lion's skin over his shoulder and left arm; resting right hand on club; to left, monogram. HGC 6, 359. Le Rider, Thasiennes 52. Light toning. Very fine.
