Hyperpyron (Gold, 29 mm, 4.36 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 1137-1143. +KЄ RO-HΘЄΙ /IC XC Christ Pantocrator, bearded, nimbate and with his right hand raised in benediction, holding Gospels in left, seated facing on throne. Rev. Iω /ΔЄC/ΠO/TΗ / Θv /(ΜΗΡ) The emperor, on the left, wearing stemma, divitision and loros, standing facing, holding globus cruciger in left hand, and on the right, the Virgin, nimbate, wearing pallium and maphorion, standing facing, crowning the emperor with her right hand. DOC 3. SB 1940. A few light scratches on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
